As soon as we friends decide the date for our Goa holidays, planning starts and excitements touches sky. Visiting Goa in alternate year is almost a routine for us. Planning is the best part in pre holidays by which we can imagine and visualise how those golden days are going to be or can say how we wish them to be. “We will not do anything ” that’s the only thing what we do in Goa this is our mission statement for Goa trip.
Planning starts on various aspects , two major things we need to consider is transport and stay. transport is something which gives a flexibility to holidays so we always choose to drive by our car from Mumbai. Many people are very fussy about their hotels. We love north Goa specially for beaches like candolim, Anjuna so we choose one of the hotels near by that area. As we have our car available 24*7 for transport . we really don’t choose hotel near by beach as that area becomes very crowded and you have to face traffic jam problems. Planning and finalising these things gives you happiness and perfect idea how your holidays will be.
After deciding these primary things messages and calls are done to each other for secondary planning like playing cards, selfie sticks etc. finally day comes when reverse counting of the hours starts and finally we all meet with our bags and says guys let the fun begin.
Travel- As mumbai-Goa is almost 600 kms we prefer to go via puṇe as road is just excellent and can take halt in puṇe. We leave mumbai at 7 pm after working day. Then after taking the halt in Pune we leave at early morning 3 am which we understood by going few times as road till kolhapur will be really empty and we can really enjoy the night drive. There r few stalls which r open on the highway if you require tea or coffee. The road till Nipani is just awesome approx 7 am you will reach Nipani corner where you need to take right turn but that’s the best time for your breakfast as well so kaveri is the best place where you can have it as it’s on that corner itself. Once you are done with it then your journey starts on small road which takes u too beautiful Amboli ghat. Enjoying sceinic beauty of it is must do thing. Drive is superb there and then you pass by sawantwadi where you can buy few small utensils for kids which are made up with wood. Then finally you land up in Goa a place where we all needs to be. Actual thrill or excitement started as we checked in in the hotel and got settled and fresh. As we ere styling near Anjuna side so candolim, calangut, Baga, Anjuna, vagator were near by us as we had our car with us. So we decided to drive to candolim our all time favoutite beach and the restaurant which we love the most there is 21 cocos. As lot of Britishers enjoy or stay near candolim so thr are many amazing restaurants in the lane which takes you to candolim beach.
21 cocos is the restaurant which we really love and there food. So once we entered, the very first things what we did is we order tap (fresh) beer! Isn’t it very necessary and but obvious thing to do when you are in Goa!
My all time favourite Fish and Chips! I had one of the beat fish and chips ever in my life.
That’s our famous dish, chicken steak with black pepper sauce and some starch!
After this heavy lunch we proceeded towards our room and took very much needed rest. We were so familiar with the routine which we have to follow it when we r in Goa.
Evening we decided to go to fisherman’s clove which is again a very famous restaurant on calangute Aguada road. Food feast is something what we look for when we are in Goa, and somebody has said these words right, eat drink relax and repeat so we always try to follow it religiously.
Fisherman’s clove is very old restaurant and we had comparatively light dinner with few pegs of whisky and fish.
Bought this Red snapper which we founded not costly so we told the chef there to marinate with tandoori marination and rub good amount of lemon juice.
Then we thought to keep our evening as sizzler eve so ordered chicken sizzler
Amazingly hot sizzler
Next day as soon as we got up we were excited to visit morjim beach located north side of vagator.
Breakfast was must and we don’t take a plan with breakfast in hotels so that we can explore excellent places for breakfast in city. And yes we succeeded to find one.
The place was kind of home of a lady which was arranged beautiful and converted into a nice sitting arrangements so that guests can spend quality time there. They had shop with many organic products for sale.
After looking at the menu we were clear in my that yes guys we are in right place as that’s what we were looking for.
So we ordered few dishes which were yummy and value for money.
Freshly squeezed orange and sweet lime juice. Love that pulpy orangejuice.
French toast with maple syrup Loved it.
Scrambled egg on local bun(pav), with organic sausages, grilled mushrooms and cherry tomatoes and yummy mustard.
Morjim-Excellent clean beach with foreigners. Free bed shacks are available here unlike candolim which costs 50 rps a person.
Once settled in top covered shack the first thing to order is again a pint of chilled beer. Water of Morjim is very clean and blue. Sand beach and important is its a plain beach not deep.
Prawns were excellent in shack. Beach Water was cold and blue so it was very inviting to be in water and we just did that. Swimming in sea gives you different type of freshness and energy. You can enjoy beautiful sunset view from shack.
Morjim beach was really a great experience for us and we enjoyed to the core.
Next day was really special as we were going to our all time favoutite candolim beach. Candolim beach lane has really nice restaurants food , clean water, less crowd is what candolims saperatea from other beaches.
Love spending time on the beach, shack we need to pay them but be love me it’s worth spending time on candolim.
For dinner beat place is Baga beach. Which is most happening beach of north Goa. Bag beach has lot of happening moments whole day. Brittos is one of the most famous restaurant situated on Baga beach. There dessert menu is just amazing. They have a dessert shop on calangute beach as well near there parking.
Baga has amazing variety of of clubbing in tito’s lane. Tito’s is most famous and oldest club. presently cubana, LPK, curlies are almost equivalent to tito’s and mamboo.
Shacks on Baga beach plays lovely hindi music on which u can dance if u don’t want to pat for clubbing.
North Goa has various tourist attractions but coming to Goa defines relaxing on beach. Fort agouda is one if the most famous tourist place in Goa. Photography on agouda fort is must. Have to be careful as it closes till 6.
Morjim, vagator, anjuna, Baga, calangute, candolim are few of the beaches which will enrtertain you for 3-4 days for sure.
When we come to end of the holidays you feel thaw sourness inside you and the Memories are what we save.
Driving back is fun too always suggested to leave very early say by 4.30 so you can enjoy the drive before sunrises and you are in Amboli ghat at perfect timing. Having batata vada and Hot Maggi in ghat is awesome feeling. While coming back we can enjoy the food any where but we chooses hotel Jagdamba which was just before pune on Bangalore highway itself. Hotel serves excellent mutton so we all were in hurry to order the food.
That’s Goa for you!
